Information - Through the publication of a monthly newsletter, the Association provides local housing and community development officials and agencies within Massachusetts information concerning pertinent Federal and State legislation, issues impacting housing and community development programs, and newsworthy items of importance to the Association's membership. Broad-based policy changes are also included in order that all members may be aware of current State and Federal viewpoints towards various housing and community development issues and ideas.
Professionalism - MassNAHRO attempts, through the dissemination of information and the utilization of expert trainers, to bring a higher degree of professionalism to those engaged in the areas of housing and community development. MassNAHRO provides its members with the opportunity to participate in educational and technical workshops, seminars and conferences in order that they may expand upon their professional abilities and qualifications.
Representation - MassNAHRO represents constituent members in front of the State Legislature, the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Presently, the Association meets on a monthly basis with the DHCD Assistant Secretary in charge of Housing Operations, and with the Region I HUD Administrator.
