As of February 1, 2019 all Massachusetts housing authorities are required to provide procedures, equipment and training to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses in the workplace. While the Mass. Department of Labor Standards (DLS) does not require OSHA 10 training for housing authority employees, MassNAHRO members may want to consider it for your maintenance staff.
This is a customized course that will review the hazards and risks specifically encountered by employees of Massachusetts housing authorities as they perform their day-to-day job functions. It will highlight and review the specific OSHA standards and requirements that should be promoted and embraced at your workplace. It will provide skills and tools which will allow your employees to promote safety and to respond to challenges that they may encounter during their work day. It is ideal for supervisors with safety and health responsibilities, and for employee safety and health awareness.
Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive an OSHA general industry 10-hour completion card. Each attendee must attend all 10 hours of the course and complete a student information form to be eligible to receive an OSHA card.
