The Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Housing & Redevelopment Officials (MassNAHRO) is a membership association of local housing authorities, community development agencies and housing and redevelopment officials. Its purpose is to be the leading housing and community development advocate for the provision and preservation of adequate and affordable housing for those with low and moderate incomes, and to enhance the professional development and effectiveness of MassNAHRO members.
Established in 1972 as an official state chapter, MassNAHRO parallels and complements the National Organization of NAHRO. While the National organization is concerned with Federal policies, MassNAHRO is primarily concerned with the policies of State agencies and State programs and the implications of national policies at the state and local levels.
Currently, the membership of MassNAHRO consists of approximately 261 public agencies. This membership includes over 1,500 publicly elected and appointed officials from throughout the Commonwealth. MassNAHRO exists to serve the needs and interests of these local public officials.
